A while ago my friend Jonah had an idea to pull together all the youth organizations in Washington State around a common umbrella. At the time I thought it was a great idea, but once I started looking around I got a little discouraged. There are SO MANY groups that serve young people that bringing them together couldn't possibly be of any great use to the world. So I did the next best thing.
Rounding up the contacts I have around the state, and doing a little research to find more, I've developed the Washington Youth Voice Directory <
http://freechild.org/WYVD.htm>. The Directory has more than 30 organizations that promote youth voice, and other opportunities for young people here in Washington to make their voices heard. Not a bad start to something that could be a lot bigger in the future... and a step towards the UNITY and SOLIDARITY that will bring together young people and communities around the world!
